Space Invaders
Space Invaders is a modern reimagining of Taito's legenda...
Built using a modified version of the Turok: Dinosaur Hunter engine, South Park translates the series' signature construction-paper cutout aesthetic into polygonal 3D environments. Players can choose to play as any of the four central boys or unlock alternate characters as they battle through distinct levels ranging from snowy town streets and abandoned mines to alien spacecraft.
Rather than relying strictly on conventional firearms, the game features an outlandish arsenal of weapons tailored to the show's absurdity. Players fling yellow snowballs, fire toilet plungers with deadly force, launch cow-launching rockets, and deploy angry-beaver hand grenades. In addition to the single-player campaign, the game includes a robust four-player split-screen multiplayer mode featuring customizable matches, unique characters, and chaotic weapon mutators that made it a staple of late-90s couch-cooperative parties.
